Tied House-= opening night recap

Some of the IPA girls decided to christen the new Tiedhouse last night.

We were there for the duration of the Phils. GO PHILS.
We had so much fun. At one point April Annie was laughing so hard she "misted."
It was a nice night out with the ladies. I didn't think about Denver once.

We nibbled on some apps.
We ordered the albondigas (meatballs,) tandoori wings, and the duck confit tostada that had Jenny Hobbs all sorts of starry eyed. I liked the wings a lot. Its always buffalo buffalo buffalo.
These were dry rubbed and served with a yogurt dipping sauce. The chef is the Philip Falcone of General Lafayette inn.

On to the TAPS.....

The Beers were good.
I sampled
* Le marquis de Lafayette - Belgian-style amber
* Lafayette’s Biere de Framboise
*Chocolate Thunder Porter
* 275th Anniversary Ale - 13.1% abv barleywine brewed in 2006 (thanks Russ!)
*Abbey Brune Ale

The Framboise might be the best framboise I have had in a very long time. Tart not cloyingly lindemans sweet. It was delightful and sure to please the fair ladies of fairmount.

And as far as beer cocktails go, the chocolate thunder topped off with the framoise could be brilliant.

As I mentioned in an earlier blog, it'll be a fun place to watch a game.
With kite and key a mere two blocks away...you could do two quarters with Franklin and the last two with Lafayette.

  1. I was there when they first opened til about 6 and saw the glittery Phillies shirt you spoke of. The 275th anniversary was a nice barleywine and the food was pretty descent. I enjoyed it.

  2. I thought the chick in the shirt was hot, I noticed she kept smiling...wish it was at me. My group loved the octoberfest beer, fun night, def going back!
