I stayed in on Saturday night to be Chef Boy R Suz.
I somehow found the inspiration to make Gnocchi.
I am no Italian Grandmother- and it wasn't perfect- but it was a darn good effort.
The dough wasn't cold enough to make the fork ridges in it- but the taste was there.
I boiled it for about 2 minutes- then pan seared it in butter to get the perfect crispness.
The sauce was perhaps my best attempt yet.
I held the onions thinking that Lance would come over- but he did not.
I sauteed up some garlic- added mushrooms, chopped tomatoes (with basil from a can) just a lil tomato paste, oregano, thyme, seared zucchini, a lil red wine, red pepper, and black pepper. I let it cook for about an hour and a half while I was working on the gnocchi. The red wine flavor was awesome.
