May 7th is NATIONAL TRAIN DAY! And wouldn't you know I was scheduled to take the R5 train out to Paoli at 5:15 anyway with my gals Wendy and Megan.
We've been planning our "SlyDogGang"Night at TJ's in Paoli since December when the three of us attended TJ's Anniversary party. Since then Jeff Miller has been stashing all sorts of drinkable goodies from our three breweries.
The last keg of Sly Fox Kimberton Coffee Porter will be pouring. As will Black Raspberry Reserve, Oatmeal Stout (people love this silky number), Odyssey, Belgian Dubbel, Incubus and others from Sly Fox.
Dogfish will have the Extremely limited HellHound pouring--their tribute beer celebrating the work of bluesman, Robert Johnson as well as some other limited releases.
There will be lots of Ommegang as well.
|Last night of Philly Beer Week 2010 at Johnny Brendas|
It's a Sly Dog Gang affair. Megs will be dishing out giveaways, Wendy will be making fun of me but so happy I was on time, and I will probably be advocating train use while throwing back a bevy of beer and answering questions about what we're doing for Philly Beer Week- the topic about town.
Please join the guaranteed fun.
If you wanna be there at 6 (They will also have some Kentucky Derby activity)
Leave Market EAST at 5:10
30 st station 5:19
Trains are every half hour out and every hour back
ON THE WAY back
and if you just can't bear to leave- last train is 1:04 am.
