Last Sunday, I was honored to be invited to an intimate family luncheon following the christening of a friend's daughter. And I was thrilled that it was at Le Virtu on East Passyunk.
It had been a minute since I had feasted there. With Hop Chef on the horizon- I wanted to revisit Le Virtu and try some of pastamaster Joe Cicala's spaghetti.
Pictured to the right, this dish included house-made "guitar cut" spaghetti tossed with rock shrimp. I had already had breakfast tacos (a mi casa), cured meats, and ricotta cheese and I was pretty full by the time this came out.
But I still had one last bite four times. Cicala is talented and has a fair chance of winning Hop Chef next week. Make sure you pick up this week's PW. The cover story details the trip that four of the six took up to the Cooperstown two weeks ago.
The event will take place at World Cafe Live next Tuesday, July 10th.
