PORKTOBERFEST DAY 3: Pork Ribs at GRAFFIATO

I had GRAFFIATO on my to-do list since it opened earlier this summer in June.  It is the first restaurant of Top Chef runner-up Mike Isabella. I don't have cable so I have actually never seen Top Chef, but buzz is buzz. This restaurant had the people talking and that talk wanted to get me eating in there sooner than later.

Isabella was a guest of Amis for this week's industry night but I couldn't make it out.  I then learned via my "Chef's Feed" app that I was staying merely blocks from the restaurant  last night so I checked it out.

The ribs were $11.  They were awesome.  I wish they were accompanied by a little more shaved fennel and mostarda, but the meat itself was perfectly prepared. I barely eat ribs anymore. I used to work at DAMONS: The place for Ribs back in college and many slabs went down in those two years.

Graffiato is Italian in concept. House-made pastas, artisan pizzas, meats, cheese. It's got a hip, see-and-be seen feel. A long bar stretches the space of the restaurant. Service was great as was my fennel soda cocktail. Craft beer is available.
